Labor Assistance Program (LAP)

The Labor Assistance Program (LAP)  is designed to offer a court ordered, structured alternative to male and female adult prisoners, which will enable them to maintain employment, provide for their families, continue to be productive members of society and serve a penalty or punitive sanction appropriate to the crime committed.

Other goals and objectives include:

  • To provide the community a public service as a form of restitution
  • To provide the offender with a mechanism for paying court orders
  • Fines
  • Fees
  • Penalties
  • Family or child support
  • Provide labor and assistance to save non-profit agencies and public work entities

The LAP Unit is located at the Department of Corrections, 70 Hunter Street Woodbury, New Jersey.
