The Gloucester County Division of Social Services is committed to providing economic and social services to individuals and families in Gloucester County based on financial need.

Applications for all programs can be completed in-person at our office
located at: 400 Hollydell Drive located in Sewell
 Monday – Friday from 8:00AM to 4:30PM.

Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF)


Work First New Jersey Temporary Assistance to Needy Families is a work program with a financial benefit. TANF provides cash assistance to eligible families. Payments are limited to a lifetime total of 60 months.

General Assistance (GA
)


Work First New Jersey General Assistance is a work program which provides cash assistance to adults age 18 years and older who meet eligibility requirements.

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)


Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as Food Stamps, helps eligible recipients buy food using a debit card. Benefits are provided based on family size, income, expenses, and resources.

Medicaid - NJ Familycare

Medicaid is the Federal/State Health Assistance program that provides payment for pharmacy, doctor, hospital, optometry, and dental care to individuals receiving Temporary Assistance to Needy Families, General Assistance, Refugee Resettlement Program, recipients of Supplemental Security Income, and individuals or families that meet specific income eligibility guidelines. Medicaid also pays for nursing home care for eligible individuals.

Child Support Program (CSP) provides support for children by establishing paternity and administering court ordered genetic paternity testing, locating non-custodial parents, initiating child and medical support complaints, and reviewing existing support obligations for possible adjustment.

Residents fill in the required information and the application is automatically emailed directly to the Gloucester County Division of Social Services. However, if the applicant is eligible they are still required to come into the agency for a face to face interview.
