Child Support & Paternity Programs
CHILD SUPPORT & PATERNITY PROGRAM
All residents of Gloucester County are entitled to receive services from the Child Support and Paternity Program (CSP). The purpose of this program is to establish paternity, child support and medical orders against the non-custodial/absent parent for the children in our community. “We believe child support is more than just money. It is the responsibility of each parent-both mother and father- to make sure their child has enough food to eat, clothes to wear and a safe place to live.”
TANF & WFNJ APPLICANTS
All Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and Work First New Jersey (WFNJ) applicants are required to cooperate with child support in order to be eligible for cash assistance. Cooperation includes providing identifying information about the non-custodial/absent parent as well as reporting any changes to your caseworker. As long as we can do so safely, CSP staff will file a complaint to Gloucester County Family Court to pursue an order to establish paternity, child support and medical as appropriate.
The services provided through the Child Support and Paternity Program at the County Welfare Agency (CWA) include:
Assistance in locating absent/non-custodial parents
Coordination of genetic testing for the establishment of paternity
Consent Conferences to assist with expediting establishment of paternity and support
Review of existing orders to determine if a modification is needed (as applicable)

THE NEW JERSEY CHILD SUPPORT PROGRAM HAS MADE CHANGES TO IMPROVE ITS CUSTOMER SERVICE TO FAMILIES OF NJ. THESE IMPROVEMENTS ALLOW CUSTOMERS GREATER ACCESS TO CASE INFORMATION, COURT INFORMATION AND THE ABILITY TO MAKE PAYMENTS SECURELY THROUGH AN AUTOMATED PIN PROCESS AND EFFICIENTLY THROUGH ENHANCED WEBSITE AND PHONE SYSTEMS. THE IMPROVED INTERACTIVE VOICE RESPONSE SYSTEM AND WEBSITE WILL ALSO ASSIST CUSTOMERS ACCESSING ADDITIONAL FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICES. NJ CHILD SUPPORT CUSTOMERS WILL BE ABLE TO SPEAK TO A REPRESENTATIVE FROM THE EXPANDED HOURS OF 8 AM TO 7 PM, MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY.
