New roundabout to be constructed on High Hill and Auburn Roads
(Woolwich, NJ) --The construction of a new roundabout at the intersection of High Hill Road (CR 662/Bridgeport Ave) and Auburn Road (CR 551) in Woolwich and Swedesboro will begin on April 17, 2017 and should be completed in late fall.
A detour will be implemented for the first phase of construction where traffic from High Hill Road and Auburn Road will be detoured down Center Square Road and Township Line Road. This phase will last approximately 16 weeks.
For construction of the second phase of the project, traffic on Bridgeport Ave. and Auburn Road (north of the roundabout) will be detoured down Kings Highway and Center Square Road. This phase should be in place until October, weather permitting.
During construction access to homes and businesses will remain open. This project is a State Aid funded project. The construction cost is $989,560.00. South State Inc. is the contractor.
The traveling public is asked to follow all posted detours and use caution when driving around the work zone.
