County Memorial Day Ceremony to be held on Sunday, May 28
(Monroe Twp., NJ) – The Gloucester County Board of Chosen Freeholders will hold the Annual Memorial Day Ceremony on Sunday, May 28 at 1 p.m. at the Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Wreaths will be placed to honor fallen comrades during the hour-long ceremony that will conclude with a rifle salute and TAPS. After the program is over, families will be given a carnation to lie upon the graves of their loved one.
This year one Veteran Organization Monument will be dedicated along Memorial Walk: Members of the D.J. Bentz Chapter #336 of the Military Order of the Purple Heart
The ceremony is open to everyone and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and arrive early. More than 500 veterans, friends and family attend this event. The ceremony is held rain or shine.
