RCGC and Rowan University host events for Sexual Assault Awareness Week 

(Sewell, NJ) In honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Week and April being declared Sexual Assault Awareness Month, Freeholder Jim Jefferson attended the RCGC 'Me Too, Now What? Workshop' at the RCGC Business & Corporate Center.  This event was part of activities taking place at RCGC and Rowan University to promote Sexual Assault Awareness Week.

SERV advocates will be attending a number of events across the county throughout April to promote awareness within the student body and community for sexual assault victims and survivors.

Events include:

April 10th
Prof Talk at Rowan University
Student Center Owl's Nest - 6:30 p.m.
Taylor Davis will be speaking on sexual violence prevention. This month’s topic is sexual violence. A variety of Rowan affiliates and community members will be speaking/giving presentations on the topic.

April 11th
Chalk Walk at Rowan University’s Patio Pride 
Student Center Patio - Noon to 2 p.m.
SERV will be tabling and facilitating chalk messaging from noon to 2 p.m.
A designated length of sidewalk will be available for anyone to write inspiring/anti-catcalling messages with chalk in honor of Anti-Street Harassment Week.

April 16th
Miss Representation Screening and Panel Discussion 
Mullica Hill Library - 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
SERV will be hosting.
Explores the under-representation of women in positions of power and influence in America, and challenges the media's limited portrayal of what it means to be a powerful woman.

April 18th
Sexual Violence Prevention Coalition Meeting 
115 Budd Blvd Woodbury - 10 a.m. to noon
SERV will be hosting.
Looking for community stakeholders/gatekeepers that have access to a population that can be served via primary prevention. Or those with access to data on violence in Gloucester County.

April 23rd
Dine and Donate at Glassboro Landmark Americana Restaurant (All Day)
SERV will be tabling from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Bring flyer with you any time that day and a portion of the proceeds will benefit SERV.

April 25th
Denim Day at Rowan University Wellness Center Lobby
SERV will be hosting from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Participants can paint inspiring/anti-rape/anti-victim blaming messages on denim and then the denim will be hung as an art display.
