Former Washington Township Police Chief honored

( (Woodbury, NJ) – The Gloucester County Board of Chosen Freeholders presented Rafael Muniz with a proclamation at their Freeholder meeting on June 6.  Chief Muniz was selected as the Rick Zammer award recipient 2018 for his decades of service to his community.

The award, given by the Washington Township Chamber of Commerce and named for Rick Zammer, honors those who make an effort to go above and beyond in positively contributing to the community.

Freeholder Deputy Director Giuseppe (Joe) Chila, said, "Chief Muniz has been a leader in public safety community and the county as a whole for forty years.  He is the epitome of what public service is about and we applaud his service and the positive impact he has made in Washington Township."

Rafael Muniz spent 27 years as a member of the Washington Township Police Department, with ten of those years as Chief.
