1,200 runners will take to the cross country course

(Logan Township, NJ) For four years the Rowan University Border Battle has given east coast cross country teams the opportunity to compete against teams from other regions to help get key victories and the ability to compete in the NCAA Cross Country Championship and the NCAA Cross Country Regionals. This year, the Gloucester County DREAM Park will by hosting the over 1,200 attending competitors on their own home turf.

Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger said, "The DREAM Park will be hosting the largest cross country meet in New Jersey this year in the Border Battle and will also be hosting the conference championship NJAC and the NCAA Atlantic Region Championships as well as becoming a new home for Rowan's future cross country meets."

Damminger said, "The Border Battle is a great way for teams to come together to earn their place in the NCAA's Division 3 Cross Country Championship. It also allows our non-local competitors a chance to experience our beautiful county and all it has to offer."

The meet features teams from 14 states: Connecticut, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Virginia.  Over the last two years this meet has produced more teams competing in the NCAA championships than any other meet in the country.
