Gloucester County Veterans Day Ceremony to be held on November 12

(Sewell, NJ) – The Gloucester County Board of Chosen Freeholders and Rowan College Student Veterans Organization will hold the 2018 Veterans Day Ceremony on Nov. 12 at 10 a.m. at Rowan College at Gloucester County.

The hour-long ceremony is open to the public and will feature the Semper Fidelis Color Guard, Emerald Society Pipes & Drums, and remarks from Senate President Steve Sweeney, Congressman Donald Norcross and Sergeant Major (Ret.) James T. Adams, USMC.

Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger, "The ceremony is held to honor the bravery, sacrifice, and courage of our veterans who served our country. I encourage anyone who can attend to join us in thanking our veterans for their service and for making and keeping our great nation what it is today."

Freeholder Deputy Director Giuseppe (Joe) Chila, liaison to Veterans Affairs, said, “We believe it is a privilege and our responsibility to support and provide care to those who served our country. Our veterans have answered our country's call and we owe them a debt of gratitude for allowing us all to live in the greatest Democracy on earth.”

The Student Veterans Organization will also honor those who served our country and now serve as faculty and staff at Rowan College at Gloucester County.  Veteran Award Recognition presentation by the by the G.O.L.D. Club will be made to Nicholas M. Smith, U.S. Navy 2012—2016, Operation Enduring Freedom.

The ceremony will take place in the Physical Education Center.
