James and Ann Whitall House looking for volunteers
(National Park, NJ) Gloucester County Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger and Freeholder James J. Lavender Ed.D announced that on Saturday, March 9 at 10 a.m. an open house will be hosted at the James and Ann Whitall House at Redbank Battlefield for anyone interested in working a volunteer position at the house.
Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger said, "The Whitall house is one of the county's busiest locations and with so many events and tours, they can always use volunteers to assist. The volunteers are really a key ingredient in the success of the Whitall House inside and out."
Freeholder Lavender, Liaison to the Department of Parks, said, “This is a great community service opportunity for those who are interested in nature or history. Volunteers offer tours of the James and Ann Whitall House, demonstrate eighteenth century life, plant and maintain the gardens, and participate in special events.”
A second open house is planned for Tuesday, April 9.
