Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program

The Gloucester County Board of Commissioners is offering vouchers to income eligible seniors to buy fresh produce at designated local farmers' markets beginning in June.  The Seniors Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) provides coupons to income eligible seniors over the age of 60 to purchase locally grown fresh fruit, vegetables and herbs from local farmers.  Proof of Gloucester County residency and income is required.

Promoting Nutritional Health

The Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) promotes nutritional health among New Jersey’s senior citizens by providing them with locally grown fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs. We will receive and begin distributing checks in June; authorized farmers, markets, and roadside stands will be provided with checks and there will be distribution sites that will be announced throughout the county.

Eligibility

Eligible seniors will receive $30 in checks and must show proof of age, address, and income to receive checks. Participants in the SFMNP must be at least sixty years old. Income guidelines are: household of one monthly gross income of up to $2,096, and household of two can have monthly gross income of $2,823.
