[ARCHIVED] Gloucester County Animal Shelter has loving pets for you

(Clayton, NJ)—The Gloucester Country Animal Shelter is open to help you find the purr-fect pets for your family.

The shelter is still offering discounted adoption fees until further notice. Dogs and cats six years old and younger will have their adoption fees reduced to $35 while dogs and cats six years and older will have their adoption fees waived.

“Costs should not deter any loving family from finding the right pet for them. We hope with reducing fees, we will see even more loving families come to the shelter to find their pets,” said Commissioner Director Robert M. Damminger.

GCAS is still limiting access to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Please visit for a full list of hours.

Due to COVID-19, adoptions are by appointment only. Our adoption hours are Tuesday through Thursday 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. The Adoption Office is closed on Sundays and Mondays.

“Kitten season is right around the corner and we’re already seeing an influx in our kitten numbers at the shelter,” said Deputy Director Frank J. DiMarco. “If you find yourself wanting to donate to the Gloucester County Animal Shelter, please think of the kittens that will be joining us in the coming weeks.”

The shelter is in need of kitten formula, bottles, blankets and additional supplies as they prepare for new arrivals. Please check out their Amazon wish list here:

If you're visiting us in person, please utilize the drop box for monetary donations.
