The annual Ann Whitall Herb & Flower Show at the Whitall House at Red Bank Battlefield is set for this weekend, Gloucester County Board of Commissioners announced.
The event will take place Sunday, June 27 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. The Butterfly House will be open during the event.
"The gardens at the Whitall House are cared and maintained by a group of our talented volunteer gardeners," Commissioner Director Robert M. Damminger said. "This event is the perfect time to come visit the gardens and show off your growing skills as well."
Certified Gardeners will be on hand to answer lawn and garden questions. Vendors will be on site with plants, garden related items and handicrafts for sale.
"The Herb and Flower show is an open show and a great way for residents to exhibit their gardening skills or to experience the work of the entrants and learn about gardening," Commissioner Jim Lavender, liaison to the Department of Parks and Recreation, said.
Admission and show entries are free. Registration will be day of and contact free. Registration forms for each entry must be filled out upon arrival. Exhibits must be delivered between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Sunday. Judging will take place between 11 a.m. and noon. Entries must be picked up by 4 p.m.
The Butterfly House will be open Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
