[ARCHIVED] Disability Employment Job Fair and Resource Event scheduled for July 30


(Sewell, NJ) –On Friday, July 30, the Gloucester County Board of Commissioners will sponsor their annual Disability Employment Job Fair and Resource Event from 9 a.m. to noon at Rowan College of South Jersey’s Gymnasium 1400 Tanyard Rd., Sewell 08080.

Preceding the Employment Fair, free workshops are available to assist with your job searching techniques

Learn from the experts on how to land a job with an effective resume, social media techniques and job fair strategies. Workshops will be held at the Stephen M. Sweeney Center for Special Services Room 112, 530 Salina Rd., Sewell, NJ 08080 on the following dates:

Tuesday, July 13, 3:00 pm—4:00 pm

Thursday, July 15, 6:00 pm—7:00 pm

Registration is required to attend the workshops at OR call (856) 384-6963 

"The goal of the Disability Job Fair is to open more doors to employment opportunities for job seekers with disabilities.,” said Commissioner Director Robert M. Damminger. “Attendees should dress for success and bring copies of your resume."

Commissioner Heather Simmons, Liaison to Economic Development said, “We are committed to providing resources and opportunities to individuals with disabilities so they can meet employers with job openings and gain more insight on what type of employment opportunities are available to them.” 

Commissioner Jim Jefferson, Liaison to the Department of Health and Human Services said, “We encourage all potential employers to embrace diversity as they seek to fill positions by considering the talents of all workers, including those with disabilities.”
