(Clayton, NJ)—The Gloucester County Animal Shelter (GCAS) is open to help Gloucester County families find their new furry friends.
The shelter's adoption department is open Tuesday-Thursday 12 p.m.– 7 p.m. and Friday– Saturday 12 p.m.– 4 p.m. An approved application is not required to walk through the kennel, but we do encourage you to fill an application out prior to arrival just in case you would like to meet an animal available for adoption.
Any Gloucester County resident interested in adopting from GCAS can call (856) 881-2828 ext. 1 for adoptions. You can also fill out an adoption application online at www.gloucestercountynj.gov.
“Every family that visits the Gloucester County Animal Shelter leaves with the pet that’s right for them. We take pride in taking the time with our adoptive families and ensuring that families and animals are comfortable with each other prior to adoption,” said Commissioner Director Robert M. Daminger.
Director Damminger reminds residents that the shelter is still discounting adoption fees for the animals at the shelter. Animals 6 years old and younger will have their adoption fees reduced to $35. Dogs and cats 6 years and older will have their adoption fees completely waived.
“The animals staying at the shelter are under constant care of our amazing staff and volunteers. Our volunteers work tirelessly to ensure they’re happy during their stay,” said Deputy Director Frank J. DiMarco.
Individuals are always welcome to apply to volunteer at the shelter. Fill out an application and a staff member will be in touch:https://www.gloucestercountynj.gov/233/Volunteers-Fostering
