Rabies-Alert

(Deptford Township, NJ) – Residents in the vicinity of 200 Ogden Road, Deptford Township should be aware that a raccoon tested positive on January 10, 2022.

There were no animals or humans exposed. The Gloucester County Health Department would like to remind you to be aware of this incident and take appropriate safety measures for all children and pets.  Rabies is a deadly disease caused by a virus in the saliva of infected animals. If left untreated can cause death. Post exposure treatment is needed immediately.

All pet owners are urged to check the vaccination status of their pets. Residents should avoid wild animals and keep your distance from stray dogs and cats.
