AP Jon Amira was selected for the 2022 New Jersey State Bar Association - Young Lawyers Division Service to the Community Award. He will receive this award at this year's Annual State Bar Convention, taking place May 18-20th in Atlantic City.
The Service to the Community Award is given to Young Lawyers who, in 2022, have devoted substantial time and energy to community-oriented activities such as pro bono work, government service, charity involvement or other public. Typically, Young Lawyers who are in paid public service positions are not eligible for this award unless they are doing something in addition to the job for which they are paid. The Nominating Committee determined that Jon met this exception; emphasizing his extracurricular work with Gloucester County Bar Association, Hispanic Bar Association of NJ, and NJSBA-YLD. Additionally, the Committee highlighted his mentorship work; including Co-Coaching Rutgers Law School's Moot Court Team all the way to quarter-finals in the Hispanic National Bar Association's 2022 Moot Court Competition, and helping numerous students pass the first ever virtual administrations of the Uniform Bar Exam in his capacity as a tutor for Barbri.
