Commissioner DiCarlo successfully lobbies for Emergency Management and Gloucester County Fire Academy Funding

The State of New Jersey recently passed their Fiscal Year 2022/2023 budget and included in this was Gloucester County’s request to expand emergency operations infrastructure to better equip our emergency responders.

Through active dialogue with Former Senate President Steve Sweeney and Senator Fred Madden, they were able to secure a funding commitment through the new Senate President Nicholas Scutari.

Commission Director, Frank J. DiMarco said “Thanks to the tireless efforts of Steve Sweeney, Senator Fred Madden and Commissioner Denice DiCarlo our First Responders will have better training opportunities and facilities in order to be better equipped to handle emergency situations.”

These funds will expand and enhance our 911 center’s operations, address our relocation of an EMS building in Harrison Township, and renovate, expand our Fire Training Academy with much needed training props and apparatus.

“Relationships matter”, stated Commissioner Denice DiCarlo.  “When I approached Steve Sweeney and Fred Madden they did not hesitate to lend their expertise and assistance in order to not only help Gloucester County but also our First Responders.”

Commissioner DiCarlo looks forward to working on these infrastructure projects immediately.
