[ARCHIVED] Gloucester County holds 335th Annual Reorganization Meeting

(Woodbury, NJ)—Gloucester County held its annual Reorganization Meeting where they gathered at the Gloucester County Board of Commissioners for the first time.

The meeting was held Friday, January 1 on Zoom due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Commissioners Lyman Barnes, Jim Jefferson and Heather Simmons were sworn-in to three-year terms on the Commissioner Board and Robert M. Damminger again was voted director. Frank J. DiMarco will serve as deputy director.

“The hallmark of this Board of Commissioners is to keep your taxes low and stable; increase opportunities for affordable and accessible education; and create economic opportunity that generates quality jobs,” said Director Robert M. Damminger.

Plans were outlined for 2020 including projects like the Advanced Manufacturing Center at GCIT, the Institute of Neurodiversity at Rowan College of South Jersey (RCSJ) and long-term special needs housing on RCSJ campus.

The special needs housing will complete the Eds and Meds corridor which includes the newly opened Economic Development Center and the Rowan Medicine Center to be opened in Spring 2021.

“We undertake these kinds of endeavors because we never rest on our past accomplishments.  We like to challenge ourselves and be a transformational government. The type of government that breaks out from the rest and leads by example,” said Director Damminger.
