Senior Fitness Programs
The Gloucester County Department of Health seeks to maintain and enhance the healthy behaviors of our communities. The following free fitness programs are offered to Gloucester County Residents:
Tai Chi
This program includes agile steps and exercises that may increase mobility, breathing and relaxation. The movements are slow and uninterrupted and are designed to provide participants with improved balance, strength, and flexibility. Classes are offered 1 hour each week over a period of 6 weeks.
"Step By Step" Walking Program
The walking program is designed especially for older adults. Find new ways to make walking for fitness a natural part of your life, and learn the strategies needed to increase your goal of physical activity and improved fitness levels. Classes are offered 1 hour each week over a period of 6 weeks.
Sunrise Chair Yoga
Sunrise Chair Yoga is designed especially for older adults. This very gentle form of yoga helps to relax and improve well-being. Classes are offered 1 hour each week over a period of 6 weeks.
